To Know God - Know Yourself First (নিজক জানিলেহে ঈশ্বৰক জানিব পাৰি )

Guru Harideva told that unless you know yourself , you cannot know God . Now what type of knowledge about oneself is meant here ? Generally when we disclose our identity to others we describe ourselves as – “my name is so and so, I am son of so and so , resident of so and so village or town , so and so are my sons and daughter , I work in so and so capacity in so and so department or company etc. etc”. Guru Harideva told that with this type of knowledge about yourselves it is not possible to realize God . This is because of your identity as above is not your true identity . All these things and relations with which you identify yourself are perishable and you are eternal. Eternality cannot be related to anything in this world and so your true identity cannot be disclosed as above .

হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাই কৈছে – ‘বিনা আত্মজ্ঞানে কৃষ্ণ লভে কোনজন’ –অৰ্থাৎ ভগৱানক জানিবলৈ হ’লে আগতে নিজক জানিব লাগিব । এই নিজক জনাৰ অৰ্থ কি ? সাধাৰণতে আমি অন্য লোকৰ আগত নিজৰ পৰিচয় বৰ্ণনা কৰি কওঁ যে- “মোৰ নাম অমুক , মই অমুকৰ পুত্ৰ , মোৰ ঘৰ অমুক গাওঁ বা চহৰত , অমুক মোৰ ল্’ৰা বা ছোৱালী , মই অমুক বিভাগ বা অমুক কোম্পানীৰ মেনেজাৰ বা কৰ্মচাৰী ইত্যাদি ইত্যাদি” । হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাই কৈছে যে আমি নিজৰ বিষয়ে কেৱল এইদৰে জানি থাকিলে ঈশ্বৰলাভ বা ঈশ্বৰক জনা সম্ভৱ নহয় । ইয়াৰ কাৰণ ওপৰোক্ত প্ৰকাৰৰ পৰিচয় আমাৰ শুদ্ধ পৰিচয় হ’ব নোৱাৰে । যিবিলাক বস্তু বা সম্বন্ধক আশ্ৰয় কৰি সাধাৰণতে আমাৰ পৰিচয় নিৰ্ণয় কৰা হয় সেইসমুহ নশ্বৰ আৰু আমি নিজে মূলতঃ অবিনশ্বৰ সনাতন তত্ব । অবিনশ্বৰ বস্তুক নশ্বৰ বস্তুৰ সৈতে সম্পৰ্কিত কৰিব নোৱাৰি আৰু সেই কাৰণে আমি ওপৰত কোৱা ধৰণে বৰ্ণনা কৰা পৰিচয় আমাৰ প্ৰকৃত পৰিচয় হ’ব নোৱাৰে । গতিকে নিজক জনা মানে হৈছে নিজৰ শুদ্ধ পৰিচয় কি তাক
