Understanding Guru Harideva’s Approach Towards Unity-89 (একতাৰ অনুসন্ধান সম্পৰ্কত হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাৰ দৃষ্টিভঙ্গী বুজাৰ প্ৰয়াস-৮৯)

Guru Harideva highly appreciated Vishnu Sahasranama in his writings. He   told that among the Stotras or Hymns of praise, it is the best. We are trying to have some idea about Vishnu Sahasranama a here. In Vishnu Sahasranama, Lord Visnu is defined with one thousand names. Again, each of the thousand names carries one hundred meanings. Thus this scripture mentions one hundred thousands attributes of Lord Vishnu. Now, a question may arise here. Lord Vishnu or God Almighty or Ultimate truth is infinite. One hundred thousand attributes of Vishnu may be a very big figure, but still then, it is a limited figure only.  In Bhagavata it is told that, starting from the creator Brhma to a particle of sand, whatever is there in the creation are expressions of God Almighty in different forms. Each form has a name also. Thus, the name of all living and non living entities, plants, demigods, inhabitants of  heavens and hells, rivers , mountains , stars , planets and whatever name may be there, are names of God only. So, one thousand names are not sufficient to define all the forms of God Almighty. Moreover, God can only be experienced in one’s heart. In the Vedas and the Vedic Scriptures like Bhagavata, it is told that God can not be described by words and communicated from one to another. But still then,all the Scriptures contain description of God with so many names and attributes connected with those names.Vishnu Sahasranama or thousand names of Lord Vishnu are representations of some of his better known qualities that are repeatedly described in our great Epics, Vedas and Puranas. Bhagavata tells that with the chanting of God’s names, the fames, qualities, attributes of God connected with those names come into one’s mind. This keeps one’s mind free from evil thoughts. Thus firmness of mind, good memory, inner happiness and freedom from anger, jealousy and greed are the outcomes of the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama Stotras or Hymns in praise of Lord Vishnu. Chanting of these names with devotion and sincerity ensures relief from sorrows and bondage of worldly life. Guru Harideva was practically involved with the recitation of those stotras from his young age and commented on the utility of this Scripture based on his experiences. (to be continued)

হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাৰ দ্বাৰা প্ৰণীত 'শৰণ সিদ্ধান্ত'  নামৰ পুথিত বিষ্ণু সহস্ৰ নাম স্তোত্ৰৰ উচ্চ প্ৰশংসা কৰা হৈছে । সেই কাৰণে এই স্তোত্ৰ সমুহৰ বিষয়ে কিছু তথ্য জনাৰ প্ৰয়োজন আছে । বিষ্ণু সহস্ৰ নাম শাস্ত্ৰত ভগৱান বিষ্ণুৰ এহেজাৰ নামৰ উল্লেখ আছে । শাস্ত্ৰত কোৱা হৈছে যে ইয়াৰ প্ৰত্যেকটো  নামৰ এশটাকৈ অৰ্থ আছে । অৰ্থাৎ বিষ্ণু সহস্ৰনাম স্তোত্ৰৰ দ্বাৰা  ভগৱান বিষ্ণুৰ এশ হাজাৰ বা এক লাখ গুণ-মহিমাৰ কথা বৰ্ণনা কৰা হৈছে । এতিয়া এইখিনিতে এটা প্ৰশ্ন উদয় হ'ব পাৰে । ভগৱান বিষ্ণু বা পৰম সত্য বা পৰমেশ্বৰ হৈছে অসীম অনন্ত তত্ব। বিষ্ণুৰ এক লক্ষ বৈশিষ্ট আৰু গুণ মাহাত্ম্য সংখ্যাৰ ফালৰপৰা বৃহৎ যদিও ই অসীম সংখ্যা নহয়।   ভাগৱতত কোৱা হৈছে যে সৃষ্টিকৰ্ত্তা ব্ৰহ্মাৰ পৰা আৰম্ভ কৰি সামন্য বালিচাহী পৰ্যন্ত সৃষ্টিত যি আছে, সেই সমস্তই ভগৱানৰ বিভিন্ন ৰূপ । আকৌ ইয়াৰে প্ৰত্যেক ৰূপৰ একো একোটা নাম আছে । সেই হিচাপে  স্থাৱৰ ,জঙ্গম , উদ্ভিদ , দেৱতা , যক্ষ , ৰক্ষ , নদী , পৰ্বত, গ্ৰহ , নক্ষত্ৰ আদি সৃষ্টিৰ অন্তৰ্গত সমস্ত বস্তুৰ যিমান নাম থাকিব পাৰে, সেই সকলো ভগৱানৰে নাম । গতিকে মাত্ৰ এহেজাৰ নামৰ দ্বাৰা পৰমেশ্বৰক পূৰ্ণ ৰূপত প্ৰকাশ কৰা সম্ভৱ নহয়। তদুপৰি ভগৱানক নিজৰ হৃদয়ত উপলব্ধিহে কৰিব পাৰি, ভাষাৰ দ্বাৰা বৰ্ণনা কৰি এজনৰ অন্তৰৰ পৰা আন এজনৰ অন্তৰলৈ স্থানান্তৰ কৰিব নোৱাৰি । বেদ আৰু অন্য বৈদিক শাস্ত্ৰতো কোৱা হৈছে যে ভগৱান মন আৰু বাক্যৰ অগোচৰ। আনহাতে বেদ ,পুৰাণ আৰু মহাকাব্য আদি শাস্ত্ৰসমুহত ভগৱানৰ বিভিন্ন নাম বাৰে বাৰে উল্লেখ কৰি থকা হৈছে। এই নাম সমুহক আশ্ৰয় কৰি বিভিন্ন শাস্ত্ৰত ভগৱানৰ অসংখ্য গুণ মাহাত্ম্য প্ৰকাশ কৰা হৈছে। গতিকে বিষ্ণু সহস্ৰ নাম হৈছে বিভিন্ন শাস্ত্ৰত উল্লেখ থকা  আৰু ভগৱানৰ পৱিত্ৰ গুণ আৰু মাহাত্ম্য সমুহৰ প্ৰকাশ স্বৰূপ এহেজাৰ নামৰ সংগ্ৰহ । ভাগৱতত কোৱা হৈছে যে ভগৱানৰ নাম উচ্চাৰণ কৰাৰ লগে লগে সেই নামৰ লগত সংশ্লিষ্ট ভগৱানৰ পবিত্ৰ ৰূপ ,যশ কীৰ্ত্তি , গুণ , গৰিমা, মহিমা আদি আমাৰ মনলৈ আহে । ইয়াৰ প্ৰভাৱত মনৰ ভিতৰত থকা অশুভ চিন্তা ভাৱনা আঁতৰ হয় । এনেদৰে বিষ্ণু সহস্ৰ নাম স্তোত্ৰ পাঠ কৰাৰ ফলত মনৰ দৃঢ়তা আহে, স্মৃতি শক্তি বাঢ়ে , মন শান্ত হয় , ক্ৰোধ ,ইৰ্ষা ,লোভ আদি অশুভ ভাৱৰ পৰা মন মুক্ত হয় । শ্ৰদ্ধা ভক্তি সহকাৰে বিষ্ণু সহস্ৰ নাম স্তোত্ৰ পাঠ কৰিলে  সংসাৰৰ জ্বালা যন্ত্ৰণা আৰু বন্ধনৰ পৰা মুক্তি লাভ কৰিব পাৰি। শিশু কালৰে পৰা মৃত্যু পৰ্যন্ত হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনা এই শাস্ত্ৰৰ ব্যৱহাৰিক প্ৰয়োগ আৰু গুণাগুণ সম্পৰ্কে অভিজ্ঞতা অৰ্জন কৰিছিল। তেওঁ আধ্যাত্মিক জীৱনত ইয়াৰ উপকাৰীতাৰ বিষয়ে নিজৰ অভিজ্ঞতাপুষ্ট মতামত  উল্লেখ কৰি গৈছে ।(আগলৈ)
