Understanding Guru Harideva’s Approach Towards Unity-19 (একতাৰ অনুসন্ধান সম্পৰ্কত হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাৰ দৃষ্টিভঙ্গী বুজাৰ প্ৰয়াস-১৯)

In older days, not only ascetics described in our post of 6.1.20, but also other people from different parts of India used to come to Assam for pilgrimage. There are many places like hermitage of sage Basistha here,  in memories of those people who visited Assam in old days. Before coming to Bahari, Guru Harideva travelled all over Northern India for nearly ten years. For higher education he stayed at Kashi for 4 years with the family of a citizen there. Similarly for his research oriented studies on Bhagavata ,he stayed for 5 years at Puri, in the house of a priest of the Temple of Lord Jagannatha. Thus, he had experience of the hospitalities he received from different people at different places he visited outside Assam. So, Naturally, he had some feelings for the people coming to Assam for pilgrimage tour from outside and was eager to serve them by making arrangement for their stay in his Satra. Moreover, those people from different places were full of experiences and knowledge of different subjects. Guru Hardeva was highly educated person having vast experiences of almost all places and people of North India. He was accustomed with their habits and culture also. He was interested to interact with those people from outside to maintain the bond of relations he established with them during his visit outside Assam . By this type of interaction, he also wanted to give scope to his followers to interact with people from all over India and get information about different places and people for broadening of their mental outlook . The difficulties to be faced in travelling by road in Assam were already discussed in my post of 9.12.19. Travel through river Brahmaputra was the safest means for people coming from outside. Now a days also, people prefer to establish philanthropic institutions near National Highways or railway stations so that more number of travelers can utilize their services. In older days river Brahmaputra served the purpose of highway and was the only convenient way of communication of Assam with outside world .So , Guru Harideva wanted to establish a Satra near the bank of  river Brahmaputra to come into contact with people from outside travelling through river Brahmaputra . পুৰণি কালৰ পৰিব্ৰাজক সকলৰ কথা আমাৰ 6.1.20 তাৰিখৰ লিখনিত কোৱা হৈছে। তেওঁলোকত বাদেও অন্য লোক সেই কালত  তীৰ্থ পৰ্যটনৰ কাৰণে অসমলৈ আহিছিল। বশিষ্ঠাশ্ৰমৰ দৰে অনেক স্থানে পুৰণি কালত অসমলৈ অহা তীৰ্থযাত্ৰীৰ স্মৃতি আজিও বহন কৰি আছে । বহৰিলৈ অহাৰ আগতে হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাই একেৰাহে দহ বছৰ কাল উত্তৰ ভাৰতৰ বিভিন্ন স্থানত ভ্ৰমণ কৰিছিল । উচ্চ শিক্ষা লাভ কৰাৰ সময়ত তেওঁ চাৰিবছৰ কাল কাশীৰ এজন গৃহস্থৰ ঘৰত আলহী হিচাপে আছিল ।পুৰীত পাঁচ বছৰ কাল ভাগৱত শাস্ত্ৰৰ ওপৰত গৱেষণা মূলক অধ্যয়ন কৰাৰ সময়তো তেওঁ জগন্নাথ মন্দিৰৰ এজন পাণ্ডাৰ পৰিয়ালত আলহী হৈ আছিল । ভ্ৰমণ আৰু অধ্যয়ন কালত উত্তৰ ভাৰতৰ বিভিন্ন স্থানত বিভিন্ন লোকৰ পৰা লাভ কৰা মৰম-স্নেহ , সেৱা-শুশ্ৰুষাৰ কথা তেওঁ পাহৰিব পৰা নাছিল । সেয়েহে বাহিৰৰ পৰা অসমলৈ তীৰ্থ পৰ্যটনৰ বাবে অহা লোকসকলক তেওঁৰ সত্ৰত ৰাখি সেৱা শুশ্ৰুষা কৰাৰ বাবে আগ্ৰ্হী হোৱাটো তেওঁৰ বাবে স্বাভাৱিক কথা আছিল । তদুপৰি তীৰ্থযাত্ৰীসকল বিভিন্ন স্থান আৰু বিভিন্ন বিষয়ৰ জ্ঞান থকা লোক আছিল । হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাও উত্তৰ ভাৰতৰ প্ৰায় সকলো স্থানৰ সকলো লোক আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ কৃষ্টি সংস্কৃতিৰ জ্ঞান সম্পন্ন উচ্চ শিক্ষিত ব্যক্তি আছিল ।বাহিৰৰ লোকৰ সৈতে থকা সম্পৰ্ক অটুট ৰখাৰ লগতে নিজৰ  জ্ঞানৰ পৰিসৰ উত্তৰোত্তৰ বৃদ্ধিৰ বাবে বাহিৰৰ পৰা অহা এনে ধৰণৰ লোকৰ সৈতে সঘন মিলামিছা কৰাৰ প্ৰয়োজন তেওঁৰ আছিল । নিজৰ অনুগামীসকলেও বিভিন্ন স্থানৰ বিভিন্ন লোকৰ সংস্পৰ্শলৈ আহি সৰ্বভাৰতীয় পৰ্যায়ৰ বিভিন্ন স্থান আৰু বিষয়ৰ জ্ঞান লাভ কৰি মনৰ পৰিসৰ বৃদ্ধি কৰাটো তেওঁৰ কাম্য আছিল। সেই সময়ৰ অসমত স্থলপথৰ যাত্ৰা কিমান বিপদজনক আছিল তাক আমাৰ 9.12.19 তাৰিখৰ লিখনিত কোৱা হৈছে। ব্ৰহ্মপুত্ৰ নদী আছিল বাহিৰৰ লোকসকল অসমলৈ অহাযোৱাৰ বাবে একমাত্ৰ নিৰাপদ পথ । এতিয়াৰ দিনতো মানুহে তীৰ্থযাত্ৰীৰ সেৱাৰ বাবে ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় পথ বা ৰেল ষ্টেচনৰ ওচৰত দাতব্য অনুষ্ঠান পাতে । তেতিয়াহে বেছি যাত্ৰীয়ে এনে সেৱা লাভ কৰাত সহজ হয় । পুৰণি কালত বহ্মপুত্ৰ নদীয়ে আছিল অসমৰ ইমুৰৰ পৰা সিমুৰলৈ সহজে যাব পৰা ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় পথ । গতিকে গুৰুজনাই  বাহিৰৰ পৰা অহা এই সকল লোকৰ সংস্পৰ্শ লাভ কৰাৰ লগতে তেওঁলোকৰ সেৱা শুশ্ৰুষা কৰাৰ সুবিধাৰ বাবে ব্ৰহ্মপুত্ৰ নদীৰ পাৰত নিজৰ সত্ৰানুষ্ঠান পতাৰ প্ৰয়োজন বোধ কৰিছিল ।(আগলৈ)
