According to Guru Harideva a spiritual master should be merciful, humble and truthful. He should be equal to all, faultless, magnanimous, mild and clean. A spiritual master should not be inclined towards material possessions like money, land and other worldly wealth and properties etc. All activities performed by a Guru should be for the welfare of everyone. Guru should be peaceful and desireless. Guru should remain  free from last, anger, greed, pride, illusion and envy. The Guru should be sober and of respectable  personality . A Guru should be grave, compassionate, friendly, expert and poetic. A guru should not have feelings of false prestige. A true spiritual master should be well versed  original Vedic texts along with the six auxilliary vedic disciplines namely Phonetics (Shiksha), Rituals (Kalpa) ,Grammar ( Vyaakarana ), Etymology (Nirukta ) , Meter (Chandas ) and Astronomy  (Jyotisha). He should  thoroughly know the doctrines and traditions related to various religious faiths . Guru Harideva further says that a spiritual master with the above qualities  can  clear all  doubts that appear in the mind a disciple and guide the disciple  in leading  a successful spiritual life . A spiritual master who is able to enlighten the mind of disciples by his  knowledge pertaining to  the sacred traditions  and doctrines followed in the path of devotion  of Lord Vishnu , is   like the gem that can give anything desired by his disciple . In this way Guru Harideva gives a big list of the qualities of a Spiritual Master or Guru and then says that an ardent  devotee of Lord Krishna can acquire all the qualities mentioned above . He says that a Guru with those qualities should not be treated as an ordinary human being . A Guru with the above qualifications can be a considered as respectable leader of the Brahmins ( Knower of Brahma) and spiritual master of the entire human community . হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাই কৈছে যে পাৰমাৰ্থিক গুৰু  দয়াশীল , বিনয়ী আৰু সত্যবাদী হ’ব লাগে ।গুৰু সকলোৰে প্ৰতি সমভাৱাপন্ন , দোষমুক্ত , উদাৰ ,কোমল আৰু পৱিত্ৰ অন্তৰৰ হ’ব লাগে। পাৰমাৰ্থিক গুৰু বৈষয়িক বিষয়-বস্তু , সা-সম্পদ ইত্যাদিৰ প্ৰতি আসক্ত হোৱা উচিত নহয়। গুৰুৱে কৰা যিকোনো কৰ্ম জগতৰ সকলোৰে বাবে মঙ্গল দায়ক হ’ব লাগে । গুৰু শান্ত আৰু অনাসক্ত হ’ব লাগে ।গুৰু কেতিয়াও আৰু কোনো অৱস্থাতে কাম ,ক্ৰোধ্, লোভ,মোহ, অহংকাৰ আৰু ইৰ্ষাৰ বশবৰ্ত্তী হোৱা উচিত নহয়।প্ৰশান্ত চিত্ত গুৰুৰ ব্যক্তিত্বই সকলোকে আকৰ্ষণ কৰিব পাৰে।গুৰু ধীৰ-গম্ভীৰ স্বভাৱ যুক্ত  , ধৈৰ্য্যশীল , বন্ধুতুল্য , দক্ষ আৰু  কবিসুলভ মনৰ অধিকাৰী হ’ব লাগে । গুৰু বেদ আৰু বেদাঙ্গ শাস্ত্ৰ অৰ্থাৎ শিক্ষা ,কল্প , ছন্দ , ব্যাকৰণ ,নিৰুক্ত আৰু জ্যোতিষ শাস্ত্ৰত পাৰদৰ্শী হ’ব লাগে। ধৰ্ম সম্পৰ্কীয় মতবাদ সমূহ আৰু বিভিন্ন ধৰ্মমতৰ ঐতিহ্য আৰু পৰম্পৰা সম্পৰ্কে গুৰুৰ শুদ্ধ জ্ঞান থাকিব লাগে।হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাই কৈছে যে শিষ্যৰ মনত উদয় হোৱা সকলো সন্দেহ সংশয় দূৰ কৰি শিষ্যক পাৰমাৰ্থিক পথত আগুৱাই নিয়াৰ বাবে ওপৰোক্ত গুণ-জ্ঞান-গৰিমা  সম্পন্ন গুৰুতকৈ উপযুক্ত ব্যক্তি দ্বিতীয় কোনো থাকিব নোৱাৰে। বৈদিক শাস্ত্ৰজ্ঞান আৰু ঐতিহ্য-পৰম্পৰাৰ শুদ্ধ বিচাৰ-বিশ্লেষণৰ দ্বাৰা মন উদ্বুদ্ধ কৰি শিষ্যক বিষ্ণু ভক্তিৰ প্ৰতি আকৃষ্ট কৰিব পৰা গুৰু মহাৰত্ন  সদৃশ । তেনে গুৰুৰ পৰা  শিষ্যই যি বিচাৰে তাকে পাব পাৰে ।এনেদৰে হৰিদেৱ গুৰুজনাই উপযুক্ত পাৰমাৰ্থিক গুৰুৰ লক্ষণসমূহ  বিস্তাৰিতভাৱে বৰ্ণনা কৰাৰ অন্তত কৈছে যে  একান্ত কৃষ্ণভক্ত ব্যক্তিয়ে গুৰুৰ সমস্ত গুণ আয়ত্ব কৰিব পাৰে ।সকলো গুণ-লক্ষণ যুক্ত   গুৰুক সাধাৰণ মানুহ হিচাপে গণ্য কৰিব নোৱাৰি ।সমস্ত সৎ গুণসম্পন্ন গুৰু ব্ৰাহ্মণ সকলৰ ভিতৰত  শ্ৰেষ্ঠ আৰু সমগ্ৰ মানৱ সমাজৰ পাৰমাৰ্থিক গুৰু বুলি বিবেচিত  হয়। পৰমেশ্বৰৰ যিদৰে বিশ্ব ব্ৰহ্মাণ্ড সমস্ত লোকৰ পূজ্য সেইদৰে  সৰ্বগুণ সম্পন্ন  গুৰুও সকলোৰে পূজ্য ।( আগলৈ )
